Materials Control Supervisor

We are a market leader in Aerospace composite manufacturing, working with exciting technologies and materials to design and build advanced composite structural components and assemblies. We are seeking a Materials Control Supervisor to join our Procurement team at our sites in Crewkerne, Somerset.

This role is responsible for ensuring 100% readiness of raw materials to Production teams and the supervision of all Stores activities, with a high level of liaison with Production teams to also give critical focus to material control and life management outside of the Stores environment. A good understanding of composite materials is key for this role for purchasing and material control purposes.

This role follows a day shift pattern and will work between a Stores, factory and office environment.

The role

Your work activities will include to

 - manage & coordinate Stores workload & priorities (Frozen materials/Kitting/Goods Inwards).

 - coordinate Goods Inwards Inspection with Quality (where required).

 - manage & coordinate Material On-Receipt-Testing (ORT) activities.

 - manage & coordinate Material Out-of-Life (OOL) reporting; including order requisitions for replacement stock, and coordinating disposition of expired material.

 - create and Maintain a stock rotation, cycle counting, quarantine and inventory check plan.

 - ensure the accurate capture of bookings of materials issued from Stores and use.

 - forecasting and purchasing of raw materials and autoclave consumables from MACS and Production Plans.

 - support the internal Calibration programme for Goods-In held equipment.

 - support all relevant functions, promote and develop a culture of continuous improvement within the team & completion of any work related tasks, which would be deemed reasonable of this role.

 - maintain risk assessments and SSOW within Stores working environment.

The person

You will have:

 - good understanding of composites materials – purchasing / life-management / material control.

 - practical purchasing / stores experience, and familiarity with auditing processes, i.e. carrying out audits and being audited.

 - previous experience within ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP approved organisations beneficial.

 - familiarity with On-Receipt-Testing requirements and processes.

 - good understanding of business forecasting.

 - the ability to interact with Internal Customers & supplier/service provider liaison experience is desirable.

 - good concentration levels with strong attention to detail, and a methodical, organised approach.

 - excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate at all levels.

 - the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and accurately keep records.

 - computer literate, Windows based. Practical experience with MACS or a similar manufacturing information database to extract/input/interpret data to support fulfillment of the role.

 - a good team player approach with a flexible attitude to workload.

 - a safety-conscious approach to work.

 - a high level of reliability; the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
