Work Schedule: 39 hours per week- ALL SHIFTS

POSITION SUMMARY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Health, Safety and Environmental

  • Promote Health, Safety and Environmental awareness within the team.
  • Ensure PPE requirements are understood, issued and enforced.
  • Challenge unsafe practices inside and outside of your own area of control.
  • Ensure all activities and tasks undertaken within your area have been risk assessed and all appropriate control measures are strictly adhered to.
  • Perform workplace audits as required and ensure issues are appropriately escalated and actions implemented.

Quality

  • Strive to achieve Right First Time manufacturing, ensuring that no defects are passed to the next customer (internal and external).
  • Ensure all documentation is completed correctly.
  • Strive to reduce non-conformance by following instructions and engaging the team in practical problem solving activities.

Cost

  • Plan and control appropriately to ensure daily output is achieved.
  • Maintain and improve levels of productivity in accordance with agreed targets.
  • Ensure agreed cost aspects of the area are kept within agreed budget.

Delivery

  • Accountable for On-Time-In-Full delivery to the next customer (internal and external).
  • Responsible for requesting of parts and materials to achieve daily build plan, and ensuring that minimum and maximum stock levels are maintained.
  • Ensure your team understands production schedule expectations. Effectively deploy the team to achieve schedule and production targets on a daily basis.
  • Keep production monitoring boards (e.g. SQCDP) up to date throughout the shift.
  • Ensure an effective end of shift handover, covering issues, actions and resolutions, and that the area(s) are left in a production ready condition for the next shift.
  • Continuously check and confirm the status of your operators and processes throughout the shift, and that all paperwork (productivity, quality and delivery) is completed by end of shift.
  • Own the escalation of shortages and productivity issues, and co-ordinate with others to ensure they are resolved.
  • Support the team by responding to issues without delay, and follow escalation process.
  • Ensure that 5S is championed, maintained and audited.
  • Drive productivity to achieve month on month improvements
  • Ensure standard hours are achieved in the department to achieve the set targets

People

  • Support the team to achieve area targets.
  • Escalate or process disciplinary and grievance issues as appropriate.
  • Responsible for creating/maintaining team members training matrix and plan within area.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement within the team, encouraging improvement ideas and participation through.
  • Present team briefings at the start and end of every shift covering all issues including Health & Safety, Environment, Quality, 5S, Absence and Targets.
  • Manage Performance and Absence (informally and formally) including PDRs and Absence Review Meetings.
