Project Co-Ordinator

We are a market leader in Aerospace composite manufacturing, working with exciting technologies and materials to design and build advanced composite structural components and assemblies. We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our project management team at our sites in Crewkerne, Somerset.

This role will be responsible for providing direct support to the Project Managers with the co-ordination of the flow of work through the shop-floor in accordance with the Order Book/’Work to Lists’. You are responsible for liaison with the Production Managers, understanding the roadblocks preventing the agreed plan and escalating the risks to the PM to ensure the delivery targets are achieved.

This role is based in factory/office environment, and follows a flexible day shift pattern.

The role

  • Working to agreed Tods Aerospace project management best practice, effectively support the delivery of assigned projects to time, cost and quality targets
  • Working closely with the Project Manager (PM), monitor and control NPI projects through the shop-floor
  • Monitor progress of the build against plan, providing a ‘live status’ to the corresponding PM
  • Drive production projects through the business
  • Liaise with Planning, Procurement, Operations, Engineering and Quality in support of the delivery of the project objectives
  • Identify any risk to achieving the target, liaise with the Production Team Leaders to determine a rectification plan
  • Escalate all issues that are having a detrimental effect in achieving the objectives to the corresponding PM, identify and support any resultant rectification actions to minimise the impact to the project deliverables

The person

  • Relevant project / progress chasing experience (ideally within an Aerospace environment)
  • General understanding of composite materials and processes
  • Able to develop highly productive working relationships with internal colleagues and influence to ensure follow through and successful outcomes
  • Able to work on own initiative, as part of a team and in liaison with other teams
  • Able to effectively communicate; excellent influencing and networking skills
  • Strong planning and organising skills; able to manage, prioritise and effectively manage a varied workload
  • Ability to meet changing needs/circumstances head-on
